Part of an organization, one million strong, organized over a century ago to support mission causes at home and around the world, the Women's Missionary Union educates women, girls, and preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions. Throughout its history, the WMU has been an auxiliary to the Southern Baptist Convention. For more information about this mission-minded organization, please visit the WMU website.
Hyde Park Baptist Church's WMU is actively involved in serving others and providing mission opportunities. We also lead the church to:
- Pray for missions
- Give to missions
- Learn about missions
- Do missions
Get Connected!
Missions Lunch is a place where you can join others in learning about and praying for missions in an atmosphere of friendship and support. A monthly Missions Luncheon is held the first Tuesday of each month in Friendship Hall. In addition to a dynamic missions speaker, often a Hyde Park member recently on mission, there is a time of fellowship and time of prayer for missionaries. Hands on mission involvement is offered through each month's Mission Action, which is an opportunity to bring a needed item or cash to support an ongoing Hyde Park mission project. Everyone - retired ladies, stay-at-home moms, women and men on their lunch hour - is invited!
