  • Upward K for 4-5 year olds! It's a great instructional league to introduce youngsters to the game! Read details below.
  • More players and new divisions for greater success and competition in age groups.
  • We are a part of the Austin Toros (NBA Spurs D-League affiliate) "Jr. Toros" program. Each player will receive a ticket and t-shirt to attend "Hyde Park Upward night" which is TBD.  Coaches clinic and players clinic with Toros also TBD.
  • Practices and games at the Quarries gym.

Upward K

Get ready for our 2nd season of UPWARD K. Upward K is designed to give 4-5 year olds a fun experience while introducing them to the game of basketball. The players will get the same Upward gear as the older kids, but they will practice and play games geared specifically for this age group on Saturday mornings for one hour.  These players will not need to attend an evaluation.

If your player is in kindergarten and has previous basketball experience, you may sign them up to play in the 1st-2nd grade division. In this division, they will have a weekly practice and play regular games on Saturday mornings. These players must attend an evaluation.

Cheerleading

Does your daughter want to learn the basics of cheer and have a great time encouraging the players on the court? Upward Cheerleading is the perfect, pressure-free environment for girls who want to have fun, learn cheer moves, dance and make new friends! Cheer teams will practice once a week for one hour and cheer for a different team each Saturday during games. Cheerleaders will receive a uniform, megaphone, car magnet, music CD, poms, and end of season award.

Evaluations

All Evaluations will Take Place at The Quarries Gym

            November 4th and 11th
                    6pm - 7:30pm

            November 6th and 13th
                    9am - 12pm

Every player must attend a Basketball evaluation. This is a chance for the players to show off their skills throughout various drill. This is necessary for us to evaluate the skill level of all the players to create balanced teams and to help improve players' skills as well.

Evaluations are first come first served and will last approximately 15 minutes (with no wait).
We would love to have volunteers to help run stations for evaluations. Please email us at
rec@hpbc.org if you are interested in volunteering.
